Neutrogena Blackhead Eliminating Toner for Oily Skin

(Last Updated On: January 31, 2019)

Having a CTM routine is a must for keeping those stubborn blackheads and unsightly open pores at bay. But we usually skip the toning part altogether as finding a good toner is quite a feat. Today, I’ll be reviewing Neutrogena Deep Clean Blackhead Eliminating Toner.

Neutrogena Blackhead Toner

Toner, either dries out the skin or makes it greasy as a chimney in a fast food joint. So finding a good toner which shrinks the pores and makes skin clean and smooth is an essential step.

Claims: It promises to soothe and calm down skin while preventing blackheads by controlling oil production.

The flip cap is easy to use but clumsy people might pour more than required (Pro tip: use the excess on your neck and décolleté).

My Experience: I’m on my second bottle of this toner. It is mostly formulated for oily skin as it is a bit drying. When applied on face, you get a cool, fresh feeling which lasts for about 2-3 minutes. It reduces pore visibility but doesn’t shrink it as it claims.

Neither I have blackheads nor I did before, so I don’t know if it can eliminate them or not. But this toner doesn’t break me out and keeps my face shine free all day long.

It’s non-comedogenic so it’s a plus as it doesn’t clog pores. I mostly use it after showering because I feel the steam might have opened my pores and made me more susceptible to breakouts.

Neutrogena Deep Blackhead Eliminating Toner Review

It has BHA which helps in dead cells turnover and gives a nice, even and glowing complexion. It has witch hazel which is a wonderful toner for oily, sensitive acne prone skin.

It does improve the texture of my skin and doesn’t react badly with acne medicines like benzoyl peroxide, Sacyclic acid or retinoids.

It didn’t make my skin dry but left it soft, smooth and shine free all day long.

Pros:

1. Non comedogenic
2. After a long day out the cooling sensation soothes your face
3. Doesn’t make skin oily
4. Prevents whitehead
5 .Bottle is leak proof
6. Contains 0.5% Salicylic acid

Cons:

1.Contains alcohol
2. Has loads of chemicals
3. Some people might feel that it stings
4. Slightly expensive
5. No small travel sized bottle

Jhalli Diva Verdict: 3.5

Will I Repurchase?

Yes! I do look forward to purchase it again.

Do I Recommend?

Yes, oily skin, acne prone babes, go ahead.

Overall Summary: It’s a nice toner for oily, sensitive and acne prone girls. It doesn’t eliminate blackheads but it does prevent the formation of whiteheads and keeps skin shine free.
