Hi guys! Today I am up with one of the famous foundation range, Maybelline Fit Me foundation. I have two shades of this product. You may ask, ‘why?’ and my answer would bounce back to the confusion of getting base makeup right. If you ask me, how do you know which shade to get? Well, after reading a lot of reviews I went for 230 Natural Buff and it proved to be at least 2 shades darker than my skin tone.
So, I made a second attempt two months ago with 128 Warm Nude based on my instinct and this time I got my nearest shade. Recently, Maybelline has launched 8 new shades of the Fit Me Matte + Poreless range in India which were only available abroad before.
I thought it’s a high time to share my review of this product because more and more people are going to find their matching shades from now on. So here is what I feel about this foundation.
Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation Review & Swatches
Price & Quantity: It comes in a bottle of 30 ml and costs Rs. 525!

Shelf Life: Use before 30months from the date of import.
Ingredients: Water, Cyclohexasiloxane, Nylon 12, Isododecane, Alcohol Denat, Cyclopentasiloxane, Peg-10 Dimethicone, Cetyl Peg/Ppg-10/1 Dimethicone, Peg-20, Polyglyceryl 4 Isostearate, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Phenoxyethanol, Magnesium Sulphate, Disodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Hdi/Trimethylol Hexyllactone Crosspolymer, Titanium Dioxide, Methylparaben, Acrylates Copolymer, Tocopherol, Butylparaben, Aluminium Hydroxide, Alumina, Silica, Glycerin. [+/- May Contain: Cl77891/Titanium Dioxide, Cl77491, Cl77492, Cl77499/Iron Oxides]
Packaging & Appearance: This foundation comes in a transparent glass bottle with black plastic screw-open lid. There is no spatula or anything provided to take out the product so, your base makeup affair may get messy if you are not concentrating! Even my 200 bucks Lakme foundation has a plastic spatula which makes me say ‘tai-tai-phish’!
However, the packaging is completely spill-proof. I faced no leakage issue while carrying it with me. Overall, the packaging is a mixture of good and not so good.
Swatches: Checkout the images below!
Texture: This product has a runny texture. The consistency is light, smooth and very blendable. It is a mattifying product that is why it tends to dry a bit faster than the common oil based liquid foundations.
Fragrance: This product is almost fragrance-free. It has a light medicinal scent but that goes off as soon as I take out some product for application.
Fragrance producing chemicals are often responsible for skin irritations. Being fragrance-free this one saves me from those at least!
Shade-128 Warm Nude: Warm Nude is a beige foundation with warm-to-neutral undertones. I have warm-neutral undertone. This shade was the near most match for my skin when there was only 6 shades available in the FIT Me! Range.
This one makes my face look slightly orangish but that can be balanced with my Nykaa compact which has cool undertones to it. This particular shade will be best for people with fair skin with yellow undertones (Probably between NC25-30).
Shade-230 Natural Buff: Natural Buff is a warm shade with strong orange undertones. This shade will be perfect for people with wheatish skin (those who wear the third foundation shade Shell from Lakme or NC35-40 from MAC).
Coverage: Both the shades of this foundation give medium to high coverage. The coverage is buildable. If I apply a thin layer of the product my face looks even toned and my acne marks look blurred to some extent. In the second layer my deep dark circles blur and acne marks are almost hidden.
Staying Power: The staying power of the Maybelline Fit Me foundation is 7-8 hours in winter and more or less 5-6 hours in summer for my oily-to-combination skin.
However, after 4-5 hours the face starts to get oily and a pressed powder touch up is needed.
Finish: It gives a comfortable matte finish to my skin. I always set it with a compact so that the finish lasts more.
My Experience: This is the best under Rs. 500 foundation I have come in touch with by far. Though it is priced at Rs. 525, I got it for Rs. 367 only! I have used my fingers, makeup sponge and my flat foundation brush to apply it. Surprisingly Maybelline Fit Me foundation worked well in each case, no streakiness at all!
Fingers give lowest coverage, sponges give medium and flat brush gives the highest coverage. Performance wise, it gives good coverage, mattifies the oiliness and most importantly does not worsen my existing acnes or cause new break-outs. That’s a huge relief for my combination skin!
My face looks even-toned yet very much natural. I really despise those base makeup products that give cakey finish. Thankfully, Maybelline Fit Me foundation is not of that sort. With this foundation, my dark circles and pimple marks look blurred to a good extent.
1. Available in 14 shades currently
2. Provides medium-to-high coverage
3. Gives natural looking skin with matte finish
3. Does not cause pimples or skin irritations
4. Nice staying power
5. Fragrance-free foundation
6. Value for money product
1. Glass bottle may break
2. No spatula provided
Jhalli Diva Verdict: 4.5/5
Do I Recommend?
Certainly! I would recommend this foundation to everyone irrespective of the skin type. It is best suited foundation for normal to oily skin but dry skinned girls can always put a bit more moisturizer underneath!
Will I Repurchase?
For sure! I will repurchase Fit Me foundation again when I am over with my current bottle. But, next time I will go for the next lighter shade than 128.
Overall Summary: In my opinion, Maybelline Fit Me Foundation is the best budget-friendly foundation in India formally with its excellent coverage and finish, remarkable staying power and skin-friendly formula.
