(Last Updated On: July 12, 2018)

I’ve been applying makeup for more than two years and I’ve love it more and more each day. Makeup
is not just about putting cosmetics on your face but it’s surely more than that. I have a passion for makeup. But yes, there was a time when I was a complete beginner and didn’t have a good understanding of it. Today I’ll be reviewing my first ever foundation which I bought! Read on to know how my experience was in this Coloressence Aqua Makeup Base Review!

Coloressence Aqua Makeup Base Ingredients & usage

Packaging & Appearance: This foundation comes in a tube packaging. On the front, the name of the product is mentioned and on the back other details are there. The tube packaging does make a mess near the cap area but otherwise, while using the product it doesn’t bother.

Smell: It does have a perfume kind of fragrance. When I put it on at first it does get overpowering but it gets fine after I’m done with my makeup.

Swatch: In the image below.

My Experience: I purchased this foundation while I was a beginner in makeup. Though the shade I ordered is dark for me but I mix it with a moisturiser to tone down the colour. This also makes the consistency thin which is otherwise really thick.

Mixing a moisturizer helps in a better application as well. It also has a heavy orange undertone to it. So, at first when I apply it , it looks very weird but it oxidizes after a while and then it becomes fine.

This foundation does look cakey if not applied properly so if you want to set this foundation prefer using a translucent loose powder as a compact can make it look more cakey. I use it with a foundation brush as it works better with that.

Although, it takes time to really make it seamless with a brush, but it gives a better finish and coverage with it. After I’m done blending with a brush, I just dab it with a sponge so that the foundation is nicely blended and there is no streakiness.

Coloressence Aqua Makeup Base foundation can be used for daily wear but I noticed that it gave me some pimples on my cheek area and I had break outs on my forehead as well. So if you have a sensitive skin then do a patch test first. Also, it does exaggerate your pores so make sure to use a primer underneath.

Texture: It has a very thick texture. It doesn’t blend really easily so I mix it with a moisturiser.

Shade: I’m in the shade Beige (LF-1) which is dark for me as it has heavy orange undertone to it so I mix it with my daily moisturiser and it does oxidises. There are 4 shades available in this foundation in total.

Staying Power: The staying power of this foundation is pretty good. It stays for about 5-6 hours.

Coverage: It has sheer to medium coverage. You can’t build it up much as it gets cakey.

Finish: It doesn’t give a flawless finish to the skin.It might look cakey on the skin if not applied properly. After using it many times, I’ve got the hang of it. So I manage to make it look good.

● Affordable
● Travel Friendly
● Staying power is good

● Thick texture
● Exaggerate pores
● Gives a cakey finish sometimes
● Can give you break outs
● Sheer coverage
● Limited shade range
● Overpowering fragrance

Jhalli Diva Verdict: 1.5/5

Do I Recommend?

No, I do not recommend it to anyone even if you’re a beginner in makeup or on a budget because there are so many other affordable options available these days. So you need not go for this one.

Will I Repurchase?:

No, I wouldn’t repurchase this as it didn’t do a good job. I purchased this earlier as I was a beginner in
makeup but now I do not like it at all.

Overall Summary: This foundation is a fail. Although, I used it many times but now I cannot put it on my face as it gets so cakey. So do not buy this foundation as it will be a complete waste for you!

  1. Oh disappointed that the product did not do well. You can try Lakme perfecting foundation it is less than 200 bucks I guess and good enough for daily use.
