Clinique Moisture Surge 72-Hour Hydrator Review

(Last Updated On: July 21, 2019)

Hey! Clinique recently launched Moisture Surge 72-Hour Hydrator. I was skeptical about the huge 72 hours claim. But since it’s Clinique about which we are talking here, I thought of giving the Moisture Surge a go. Today, I’m sharing the Clinique Moisture Surge 72 Hour Hydrator review upon 4 weeks of regular usage.

Clinique Moisture Surge 72 Hour Moisturizer

Clinique is marketing the Moisture Surge 72 Hours as a multipurpose cream which can be used in numerous ways. Here is 10 Brilliant ways to use it!

Make sure to add me on Instagram here to help me make better buying decisions lol. Here is a detailed Clinique Moisture Surge 72-H Hydrator review where I’m sharing all my thoughts on this baby.

Product Name: Clinique Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto Replenishing Hydrator

Price & Quantity: It retails for $21 for 1 oz.

Shelf Life: Use within 24 months once opened.

Availability: Easily available online as well as offline. You can buy online at Ulta here.

Claims: It claims to be –

Allergy Tested
100% Fragrance Free
Non-Acnegenic (doesn’t contain acne causing/promoting agents)

Ingredients: It claims to contain key ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, caffeine and aloe water. For the uninitiated, hyaluronic acid is amazing ingredient for hydrating your skin. It’s also supposed to have anti-aging properties. It’s a moisturizer binding ingredient which not only hydrates your skin but keeps it supple too.

Packaging & Appearance: It comes in a beautiful green carton box which contains a transparent plastic tub with a silver cap & white separator. Overall, a cute tub packaging with nothing fancy or over the top! But tub packaging can be unhygienic.

Taking about the moisturizer, it has a gel-cream texture which is slightly pinkish to opaque in appearance.

Smell: It claims to be 100% fragrance free. But there is still a fragrance to it which is kind of sweet and pleasant.

Swatch: Check out the consistency and appearance in the image below.

My Experience: Since Clinique claimed Moisture Surge to be suitable for all skin types, I thought to give this claim a test. I tested it on dry skin as well as combination skin. I’ve a combination skin with oily T-Zone and dry patches here and there, whereas my mom has super dry skin which lacks immense moisture.

First thing first, it is super lightweight and doesn’t feel as if there is anything on my face. This feeling in 45° summer is just unbelievable!

Clinique Moisture Surge 72 Hour Review

Clinique Moisture Surge absorbs in a jiffy and isn’t sticky or greasy at all, like at all girl! It has a gel-cream formula which is quite refreshing and makes my skin feel good.

It hydrates pretty well and I like how my skin feels after the application. It doesn’t clog my pore and imparts a healthy glow. It also worked great for my mom’s dry skin but she needed more of the moisturizer on a go.

Clinique Turnaround Revitalizing Treatment Oil Review & How To Use

Little goes a long way is surely true for this baby. So, a small tub will last you long. But at the end, it depends on your skin! As always, I recommend you to go to the stores and do a patch test.

Clinique Moisture Surge 72-Hour Hydrator is the upgrade to the good old Clinique Moisture Surge. I wish I had both of them for a comparison post! Anyways, this new formula claims to work for upto 72 hours (yes 3 days, I know maths, you see!), even after washing your face. Does it actually works for 72 hours?

Clinique Moisture Surge 72 Hour Auto Replenishing Hydrator review

Pulling the curtain off this claim, I’ll say it’s not 100% true. When I apply it in the morning, I do feel hydrated even during the evening. So it’s long lasting but moisturising after washing off my face? Nope! I’m no skincare expert, can’t say about it scientifically, but I did feel lack of moisture the next morning. Yeah, I skipped my PM routine to test it.

Also, regardless of it moisturizing for 72 hours, how am I supposed to miss my night routine everyday? Personally, I sleep on with it as a night mask for a pretty morning glow!

I also use Clinique Moisture Surge 72 Hour as a base for my everyday light makeup and it holds everything together.

• Moisturizes well
• Gel based consistency
• Non-sticky lightweight formula
• Quick absorption
• Lasts long
• Suitable for all skin types
• Travel friendly
• Oil free
• Contains caffeine, aloe water & hyaluronic acid

• Tub packaging can be unhygienic
• On the expensive side
• 72 hours claims isn’t true
• Not cruelty free

Jhalli Diva Verdict: 4/5 because I like how it worked for my combination skin in this scorching summer heat.

Will I Repurchase?

The good thing about this tub is that it’s gonna last long! So, I don’t see the need to get one immediately.

Do I Recommend?

Yes! Worth a shot if your skin ain’t very dry.

Overall Summary: It is surely expensive! But keeping in mind the fact that it is gonna last me a few months, also the oil-free & non sticky formula, I like it overall. The 72 hours claim is surely a bit over-hyped, I feel, although it is long lasting. I’m not disappointed with the new Clinique Moisture Surge 72 hour and I feel it justified the money I spent on it. So kudos to Clinique for this one!!

Until next,
